FANTASY CRICKET

Fantasycric:Domain of cricket
Everything you need to know about fantasy cricket!!! Cricket:A religion in India.Hello everyone,
Welcome to fantasycric:Domain of fantasy cricket.

As all of us know that cricket is not just a sport in India but is considered more than a religion.Every Indian,be it a child or an aged person,a housewife or manager,a student or watchman,follows cricket very passionately.They wont be able to concentrate on their work if they miss out on some cricketing action.There are many around here who know A-Z of cricket.Now you must be wondering what does this have to with the site?It has everything to do with this site.Think,what if you can earn some cash or prizes by applying your Cricket gyaan ?That is what this site is all about!!Here you will get to know about the various sites offering fantasy cricket(only those who offer prizes to the winners) and the most important thing of all...how to play fantasy cricket.The prizes offered by the sites can go upto $1500(approx Rs 60,000) .I have divided the following segment into two parts,

1)Prizes and their eligibility.
2)How to play fantasy cricket.

PRIZES AND THEIR ELIGIBILITY
Their rules and regulations are very simple.what you need to have is a payee name(on whose name the cheque will be issued) and a valid address for the mailing of the check.some sites offer prizes only to indian residents but dont worry there are hell lot of a sites which offer prizes for everyone.Also some sites require you to be above 18 years of age to receive money or prizes.If you are not more than 18 years of age then that might either lead to disqualification or you will then have to give your guardians name to claim the prizes.To get going you will have to register with the respective sites and thats it...apply your cricketing knowledge and win prizes.

HOW TO PLAY FANTASY CRICKET
Well,every site has more or less the same rules.Following are some points regarding it:
You will have to choose a team of 11 players or more than that.(usually it is 11 players only).You will have to choose players from the respective categories of batsman,bowlers and wicketkeeper.Many sites have budget system.Each player will be assigned some points or fantasy money(virtual money).Your job is to see that you manage your 11 players(or more) within the assigned budget.
For eg:You are given 1000 points and players will be ranked as
Sachin Tendulkar(150) ,Sourav Ganguly(140),Anil Kumble(135),Ricky Ponting(140),Grame Smith(140) etc..
(The figures in the bracket indicate their points)
You will have to try various permutation and combinations to get the right team.Your players score points in the fantasy matches ot team(that is what your team is called) equivalent to what they score in the real(live) match.Once you are done with the team combination,submit it.Now sit back and enjoy the real(live) cricket matches.Your players scores are updated with the live matches into your very own, fantasy cricket team score.Scoring of players varies from site to site.At the end of the day your scores will be updated and a rank list will be issued.If you rank among the top you win cool cash and prizes and that depends on the players you have choose and how well they have fared in the real match.In case of ties,each site has their own rules.

Simple isnt it!!And for this you get to win some cash and cool prizes for yourself.

Espnstar

In espnstar Super Selector, you have to select 11 players from the following categories:

1. 6 x Batsmen

2. 4 x Bowlers

3. 1 x Wicket-keeper

4. Selection of a Captain is a must

5. Each player has a rating.The higher the rating, the higher the ranking of the batsman. You have 1000 points and must select players within that rating budget. The player rating is provided by ESPN Star Sports

6. You have to select one player as your team captain. The points he earns (not including bonus points) will be doubled, so you need to make your selection carefully.

7. You cannot select the same player in more than one category within your team. Eg. You can't have MS Dhoni as a batsman and as a wicket-keeper in your team. It has to be one or the other, but not both.

8. Substitution will be allowed at the end of each match for test match it will be at the end of the complete 5 days.The game will be locked at 30 Minutes before the start of the new match, for each match day. After this time your changes will be active for the following day.

Each cricket player scores points according to their performance on the field for any particular match day as a batsman, bowler, fielder or wicket keeper.

Super Selector player points are scored as follows:

* 1 point per run scored
* 25 points per wicket taken
* 5 points per catch held by fielder other than Wicket Keeper
* 10 points per Wicket-Keeper dismissal (Catch or stumping)
* 5 points per run-out (All fielders including Wicket Keepers)
* -5 (negative five) points for players who are out for a duck (0)

Bonus points are now available for the following

* 5 points for players who get a three-wicket haul.
* 10 points for players who get a five-wicket haul
* 5 points for players who get a half-century
* 10 points for players who get a century
* -5 (negative five) points if your captain does not play

Points for Wicket-Keeper dismissals are awarded to the player "wearing the gloves" at the time of the dismissal. Substitute players who effect catches, stumping or run-outs will score appropriate points for each dismissal.

All player categories can score points for all actions. i.e. it's not just designated batsmen who score points for runs. For example, in a one-day international between India and Australia, Robin Uthappa scores 59 runs, takes 2 catches and 3 run-outs, he amasses a total of 168 points as broken-down below.

* 59 points for 59 runs
* 10 points for two catches
* 15 points for three run-outs
* 5 bonus points for a half century

If he was selected as your captain he would score 173 points [2x(59+10+15)+5] as bonus points are not doubled.
